Maserati Ghibli Runs 0-62mph in 4.8 Seconds, According to Leaked Order Guide
The Maserati Ghibli makes other luxury sedans look like trash, so much so that our first preview bore that exact name. It looks hot, sports a beautiful interior that puts other midsize sedans to shame, and, as we have learned from a leaked order guide, generates competitive performance numbers. The most reasonable Maserati develops 345hp and makes a run from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, topping out at 165mph. The more powerful, AWD version with 405hp on tap makes the same sprint in 4.8 and continues to 175.
The order guide leaked to Ghibli Forum, and sheds some light onto the Ghibli’s standard features, although prices aren’t shown anywhere. 14 paint choices are offered, ranging from solid to pearlescent, although I am partial to the blue mica shown in the brochure. The standard audio system with 280 watts and 8 speakers is surely only listed to look hilariously underpowered compared to the monster 1280 watt, 15-speaker option from Bowers and Wilkins, also found in the Quattroporte.
Neither version comes with paddle shifters standard, which I find odd given Maserati’s angle toward performance and power superiority compared to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E Class. Likewise, the Skyhook active suspension system is available at an extra cost. There aren’t too many options that alter the performance feel of the Ghibli, so perhaps they are leaving a more personalized feel for the rumored V8 version.
The Maserati Ghibli goes on sale sometime this fall. Look for pricing information to be released over the next few months.
